Criteo SEA, HK and Taiwan
Alban Villani has been the General Manager for Criteo Southeast Asia, Hong Kong and Taiwan since March 2017. His previous role was Commercial Director for Criteo Southeast Asia, since October 2013. Among the first three Criteo employees who launched Criteo’s Singapore office and operations in Southeast Asia, Alban has been instrumental in laying the company’s commercial foundations across nine countries – Singapore, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Taiwan, India, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam and the Philippines. This included negotiating strategic alliances with regional agencies, driving revenue growth from top advertisers in the retail, travel and classifieds sectors and establishing relationships with key customers.
An entrepreneur at heart, Alban has more than 12 years of experience and a solid track record in the media and internet industries across Europe, the US and Asia.
Since graduating from university, he has accumulated a wealth of expertise and skills, having taken on roles in new business development and corporate planning. He started his career as a film and TV content producer for Universal Pictures and for Canal+, a leading French TV channel. He then founded his own production company in Paris, ASM Entertainment, which has since become a key provider of TV content, music videos and award-winning films in Europe.
In 2007, Alban decided to explore the growing technology industry in Asia and joined Amdocs, a market leader in customer experience software solutions for telecommunications companies and BuzzCity, a mobile advertising network. He then went on to lead Forever Young Creative Asia, an integrated digital agency, managing both Paris- and Singapore-based teams and overseeing business strategy, financing, institutional relationships and marketing. He most recently spearheaded the creation of Forever Young Mobile Studio, becoming one of the pioneers of ‘gamification’ in the Asia-Pacific region.
Alban was named ‘Digital Entrepreneur 2012’ by MillionaireAsia Magazine. He is a regular speaker at industry conferences and events organised by Web in Travel, ad:tech, eCommerce Show, Casual Connect, The Asian Banker and Data World Group.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in management from ISC Paris Business School and a European master’s in management of digital interactive services from the prestigious INA Institute.
